Haliburton County has a small, active and varied manufacturing sector and plans to attract new businesses which will support the existing base but at the same time broaden it. Working closely with representatives of the Provincial government (MEDT & OMAFRA), Haliburton County will leverage resources to develop market intelligence to identify those areas of greatest sustainability. Information developed through the 1ST Impressions Visitor Exchange Program will help the County and the lower-tier jurisdictions focus attraction efforts and become ‘market ready’. Typical of a rural economy, small home based businesses are an essential component of this sector.
